With thicker walls than schedule 40 PVC, the schedule 80 design provides enhanced mechanical strength, greater impact resistance, and increased durability where additional robustness is required. Made from rigid PVC, the elbow resists corrosion, chemical exposure, and moisture commonly encountered in plumbing and industrial environments. Socket ends are intended for solvent-cemented installation, creating secure, leak-resistant joints with compatible schedule 80 PVC pipe and fittings.
